Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Because shipyard employees are working abroad on a mass scale, the trade unions would like to partly monitor this market.
Polish shipyards are plagued by leaving workers. Thousands of people are going abroad lured by higher income and better working conditions. The trade unions would like to normalized the market.
“The employees of the construction market go to the same trade unions just after they come. It is not like that in the shipyard sector. So we met the trade unions of Norwegian companie”, Dariusz Adamski, Solidarnosc trade union in Stocznia Gdansk head said.
He proposes that the Polish shipyards least the workers to Norwegian firms. The Polish shipyard workers would belong to Norwegian trade unions and earn more than today.
“Within a quarter, they would be able to earn as much as they earn in six months in Norway. In three months, one person would come back, and the other would go away”, Dariusz Adamski added.
The Polish shipyard would control the outflow of employees.
The proposal will be presented in September during a meeting of the government, employers and shipyards.
