Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Although analysts had expected that in if Lech Kaczynski was chosen President, indices would fall, it was not the case. WIG20 ended the day at 2,339.41, or 0.7 percent higher while it was even 1.5 percent higher in the morning.
KGHM copper producer was the best performer among market giants. It jumped 4 percent after its management had raised net income forecast by 8.2 percent on Friday to PLN 2.078 billion (EUR 532.1m). Copper price was increasing, being yet another factor helping KGHM. TP telecom gained 2.2 percent after it had added 1.8 percent on Friday. PKN Orlen fuel giant and PKO BP, on the other hand, were the market’s anchors today.
Among smaller companies, Skotan jumped 33.2 percent, while Alchemia and Impexmetal increased over 8 percent. Boryszew and Ciech gained, too while Hutmen dropped. All the above mentioned companies have one thing in common – Roman Karkosik businessman is among their shareholders. PC Guard rebounded 17.7 percent after it had dived 27 percent on Friday. Prochnik clothes producer added 20 percent after a new issue had been planned. Bioton insulin producer fell 6 percent after it had improved its all time records several times last two weeks.
