Results for a PLN1bn tender to find a supplier of a centralised IT system for insurance giant PZU will not be known next month as planned by the company and Eureko, its strategic investor.

It would appear from unconfirmed information that PZU has decided not to choose a supplier but rather to change the rules of the game. The delay has caused a unclear situation on the role that Computerland will play. There are those that say it should not be involved in the initial choice of a provider and that the company should only be involved in later stages of the development of the IT system.

It would also appear that suppliers are asking themselves if they can meet the demands that the insurance industry is likely to require. According to our sources, a final decision should have been made last week. A concrete name should have been given to Eureko on Thursday or Friday of either the American CSC which is the dominant company in providing IT services to the insurance sector worldwide or the German TIA which is in alliance with Accenture.

No choice was made as the conditions of the tender were changed. There is no longer any chance that a decision will be made this year.
