The decision of treasury minister Wiesław Kaczmarek not to prolong the exclusive negotiating period for Eureko to take a 21 percent further stake in insurer PZU means that the latter once again will fall into a mire of uncertainty and be a political football. Restructuring of the company will also be abandoned for now which will no doubt hit the companyís financial position. Plans for expansion abroad are also under question, PZU is in the bidding alongside Eureko for a stake in the largest insurer in Slovakia.
