PZU sell off unlikely this year
New treasury minister Aldona Kamela-Sowińska has said officially that there is a question mark over the sale of PZU shares on the stock market this year owing to the unstable situation with the company. The treasury had earlier said that despite the dispute started by the former treasury minister with the Eureko/BIG-BG consortium over its 30 percent stake in the insurance giant, the sale would go ahead nonetheless. The two sides are now talking but nothing has been so far made public as to where these negotiations are going. If the sale does not go ahead it will mean less money for the budget. In an election year no doubt the current ruling party had already decided on where it was going to spend this cash.
