Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Regulatory bodies are ready to make decision on the digitalization of the TV in Poland till the mid of June. They are going to do this even if they fail to find consensus with broadcasters.

In three weeks, decision should be made on how to shift analogue TV into the digital system. There are still numerous controversies but the regulators: KRRiTV and UKE want to keep the deadline.

“Unless we manage to find consensus with the broadcasters, we will conduct the process the way we like it. Broadcasters know how we want to do it”, Anna Strezynska, UKE CEO said.

The new system will allow to offer more channels. The market, today prevailed by TVP, TVN and Polsat, may lure rivals. UKE wants one multiplex to broadcast the channels of the present players. The other one would be put up for sale.
