Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Dealers of Mercedes, Ford, Opel, Fiat, Volkswagen and Jaguar have submitted their offer in the tender for specialist cars to be used by duty officers.
The Ministry of Finance has closed the first stage of the tender for the delivery of 66 well-equipped cars for duty mobile groups. The tender is worth some dozen million zlotys. Seven companies have submitted their offers. They had to prove their financial condition is very good (credit scoring of PLN 5m, or EUR 1.3m) and that they are experienced.
“Not every company could take part in the tender. This is a tender for the delivery of cars which have complex equipment. They are going to be mobile laboratories ready for control actions in each time and place”, Wincenty Zeszuta, the CEO of Zeszuta Mercedes dealer said.
The new cars will be used by 44 mobile duty groups consisting of 800 officers fighting smuggling and illegal production of fuel, alcohol and cigarettes. Today, their fleet consists of 75 vehicles with radios and alarms and 16 cars with RTG equipment and fuel controlling sets. The Ministry of Finance is buying 66 brand new cars. The winner of the tender is supposed to be chosen till the end of May 2006.
