Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Prokom Investment bought 5.88 percent in Swissmed healthcare company.

Swissmed was trading even 25 percent higher yesterday. The stock of the company running a private hospital in Gdansk rose to PLN 4.45 (EUR 1.1). The reason was the statement that Prokom Investment, a company controlled by well known businessman Ryszard Krauze bought 2m shares at PLN 4 each. Prokom bought 5.88 percent of Swissmed’s shares from Bruno Hangartner, the main shareholder whose stake decreased to 50.56 percent.

“Prokom is looking for quickly developing companies operating in modern technology sectors. They decided we are attractive”, Roman Walasinski, Swissmed CEO explained.

 

Swissmed presented its plans at the last GSM which accepted to issue 13.9m shares in order to raise over PLN 10m. The funds will be spent to build new hospitals in Warsaw, Krakow and Poznan. In the first half of this year, Swissmed had nearly PLN 2.5m of net loss against PLN 8m of sales. The CEO promises net income at the end of this and at the beginning of next year. Within five years, the company should exceed PLN 100m of annual sales. The issue prospectus is nearly ready.”We will submit it within several days to the financial supervision committee”, Roman Walsinski said.
