Szczecin motorway dream
Business leaders from the north western province of western Pomerania want to set up a consortium with local government to build a stretch of the A3 motorway which was planned to link Szczecin with Zielona Gora and on to the Czech border at Lubawka but abandoned by central government. Parties involved include the port authority of Szczecin — Świnoujście and the Szczecin shipyard Porta Holding. A foreign investor will be needed to help cover the EUR900m required.
