The Poles have PLN 6.7bn (EUR 1.9bn) of debts

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – 1.2m of Poles have expired debts. The debt is growing by PLN 0.5bn every quarter.

59 percent of creditors who don’t pay their debts on time are men. These are mainly men in their 30ies and 40ies, inhabitants of big cities in Silesia or Mazowsze regions. The average debts amounts to PLN 6,600 and has not been paid in the last 60 days. In May, there were 1.2m creditors delaying their payments. Their joint debt amounted to PLN 6.7bn, or 0.5bn more than in February and over PLN 1bn more than in November 2007.

“Every quarter, the debt becomes PLN 0.5bn bigger. What’s important: the number of creditors grows much slower. 8,500 new people have appeared in the register since February”, Mariusz Hildebrand, InfoMonitor CEO said.
