PZU, the largest Polish insurer is seeking to update its IT system, probably one of the most important tasks that the company has in front of it in the foreseeable future. Three companies are reportedly seeking to fulfil the contract. They are the American Computer Sciences Corporation, British Sherwood and a consortium of the German TIA and consulting firm Accenture.
The contract is likely to be worth over PLN1bn with additional upgrading and maintenance work in the future as well.
The new system will have to meet the demands of the Eureko consortium and therefore no Polish company would be able to meet this requirement. Nonetheless Polish firms should be able to win fat subcontracting work and it would seem that Prokom, Softbank and Computerland is already in the race.
