Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Three well-known stock investors have stakes of the manufacturer of hydraulic systems. The stock price keeps growing.

For the last two weeks, the stock of Ponar has jumped by 30 percent. Yesterday, the shares were trading 18 percent higher. Meanwhile, there were no news from the company which would explain this trend. According to “PB” sources, the reason is the fact that three well-known stock investors are to fight to get control over the company from Wadowice.

One of them is Zbigniew Jakubas who has shares of, among others WSiP publisher, Mennica or Optimus IT company.

“I’m planning to increase my stake at the company”, Zbigniew Jakubas said.

He admitted that he had recently bought Ponar’s stock but refuses to say how big his stake is. Leszek Jedrzejewski, the main shareholder of Kopex, a mining and energy holding, admits he has several percent of Ponar.

“I’ve bought Ponar’s shares but I’m below the level of 5 percent. I’m watching closely what’s going to happen next”, Leszek Jedrzejewski said.

The third investor is Mirosław Kalicki, the main shareholder of the casting producer Fam. He has 9.9 percent of Ponar.

These three investors could cooperate in Ponar, weren’t they such individualities. They are not eager to share power and a clash is very probable.

Several years ago, Ponar was at the verge of bankruptcy. In the first quarter of this year, its sales jumped by 160 percent to over PLN 31m (EUR 9.1m). The net income dropped to PLN 1.9m from PLN 5.1m a year earlier but it was because the value of Relpol’s shares was updated. However, the new investors of Ponar believe that the situation at the company is bad.

“I can bet that homebuilding operations generate losses and the business in the USA is black magic. There are lots of mysteries at Ponar”, Leszek Jedrzejewski said.

The company said in a report that it had PLN 300,000 of net income from the flats it is still building. In the USA, it has launched a hydraulic company which is supposed to be listed on the WSE.
