TP fined with PLN 1m by telecom authorities

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Telekomunikacja Polska (TP) telecom will have to pay PLN 1m (EUR 255,000) of fine because it failed to inform about the price in case where the price was higher, the Electronic Communication Office UKE said in a statement. According to UKE, TP should inform the client every time when the number is dialed, that the costs are higher.

According to UKE, TP should inform the client every time when the number is dialed, that the costs are higher.

“It was important that since May 26 2006, the telecom introduced the price information in all tariffs. However, the law was broken before”, UKE statement reads.“TP was not able to introduce the price information before because we had to invest to do it. However, TP did what it was supposed to do and the implementation agenda was made in agreement with the previous telecommunication authorities URTiP. To my surprise, the law has started to abide backwards”, Grazyna Piotrowska-Oliwa, the director of the Central Department of Regulation Relations in TP Group commented. (PLN 1 = EUR 0.255)
