Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Globe Trade Centre developer jumped 17.7 percent, the biggest rise of a WIG20 component in years. The 20 share blue chips average did not hit new record but six other indices did.
The WIG20 index rose 1.44 percent to 2,941.38. It needs just 0.42 percent rise to reach its record as of January 25. Within last week, the index added 2.9 percent. Six out of 13 stock indices gained today, including WIG, WIRR, WIG-PL as well as subindices of banks, construction and food sector. WIG ended at 39,793.98, or 1.12 percent above its previous record.
GTC ended at PLN 282.5, or 17.7 percent higher. However, it constitutes just 2.5 percent in blue chips portfolio. The volume of trade amounted to PLN 37m. Fuel companies rose with oil prices after the explosion in Saudi Arabia. BZ WBK bank ended 3 percent up at PLN 171.5. Softbank IT company stock fell 4.4 percent to PLN 43.7 after the company reported quarterly results short of the forecasts. KGHM copper producer did not join the upward trend and ended 0.5 percent down at PLN 74. Tha management of KGHM failed to make decision on the acquisition of a stake in Polkomtel, Poland’s mobile operator, from Dutch TDC.
IDM brokerage rose nearly as much as GTC – the stock ended at PLN 29.5, or 16.6 percent up after the company said it would buy 75 percent of GTFI, an investment fund company for PLN 4m. Capital Partners, which had jumped 77 percent on Thursday, today shed 5.1 percent to PLN 26.1.
