What a surprise — a motorway delayed
Yet again the Gdańsk Transport Company, the concessionaire for the A1 motorway between Gdańsk and Torun, must postpone the commencement of work on the road. This time the excuse given is that there is no agreement in negotiations between GTC, the transport ministry and the motorway construction agency ABiED. In other words the concession contract still has to be signed.
Readers with long memories may recall that transport minister Jerzy Widzyk said that an agreement would be signed in July.

GTC won the concession in August 1997. Time since then has been wasted on changing the law to make a public private system possible.
