WIG20 falls 0.16 percent while the volume of trade is the lowest this year

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The last session of this week attracted very low trade. Shares ob blue chips worth PLN 324m changed hands, the lowest level this year.

WIG20 ended 0.16 percent down and again failed to exceed the level of 3,000 points. The Warsaw exchange does not follow the U.S. market where the Dow Jones index rose on Wednesday to its new record. The WIG20 index has gained only 2.5 percent this week while the volume of trade was very low.

While big investors were absent, individual players were active. They invested in small and mid caps. Kopex jumped 32.5 percent on the rumors that a strategic investor has been found and shares would be issued for him. PC Guard added 16.5 percent after the company bought the majority stake in Divicom, a new company. Shares of PC Guard worth PLN 14m changed hands, or 242,600 shares, the highest level since February. Strzelec jumped 33 percent while shares worth PLN 31.5m changed hands. Kwiatkowski NFI fund acquired by Roman Karkosik has gained 660 percent in the last ten days. Today, however, the stock fell 2.1 percent to PLN 37.2.
