WIG20 index lost its Tuesday gains

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The WIG20 index opened 1.2 percent up on Wednesday on strong growth in the Wall Street and Asian markets. Then, however, the rebound started on Tuesday, stopped.

Inflation data published in the afternoon were worse then expected. The interest rate increase is very probable in November and early next year. In addition, the US markets were losing when the Warsaw Stock Exchange was closing. WIG20 ended 1.6 percent down at 3,558.57 points.

Out of blue chips, TVN media group continued the rebound started yesterday. Today, it gained 2.1 percent to PLN 24. Bioton insulin producer at last did not disappoint investors. The company rose 1.2 percent on substantial sales increase. The stock was trading even 9.2 percent higher during the day. Polnord homebuilding company fell for the tenth consecutive day. Today, it shed 5.4 percent. Since October 30th it has already dived 25.3 percent. PGNiG gas company fell for the fourth consecutive day. Today the stock shed 3.3 percent to PLN 5.54 on disappointing quarterly results.
