WIG20 loses 4.84 percent this week

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The WIG20 index which had lost over 6 percent in the previous three days, rebounded on Friday. It gained 1.38 percent while shares worth PLN 1 billion changed hands, a little bit more than on Thursday.

In the morning, the WIG20 fell to 2,974 points. However, before the midday, the 20 share blue chips index rebounded. There may be further growths expected next week. The foreign capital which has been coming back to Poland recently has not left it. The Polish currency is still strong, and on Friday it appreciated against the euro for the fifth straight day. According to Merrill Lynch, Poland has potential for 7 percent GDP growth in the mid-term.

 

The giants rose today. KGHM copper producer added 1.8 percent to PLN 116 while shares worth PLN 195m changed hands, 30 percent more than on Thursday. After five days of losses when PKN Orlen fuel giant had shed 12 percent, today it rebounded 0.9 percent while the volume of trade was the highest and amounted to PLN 227m. Agora media group ended down as forecast. The stock is the cheapest in history and cost PLN 29.9.
