Wilbo fish producer fails to improve results

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Although the management of Wilbo, the Polish fish producer from Wladyslawo, northern Poland, promised second quarter results to be better than first quarter ones, the listed company incurred a loss.

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Although the management of Wilbo, the Polish fish producer from Wladyslawo, northern Poland, promised second quarter results to be better than first quarter ones, the listed company incurred a loss.

In the April-June period, it had PLN 1.77m (EUR 433,600) of net loss. After the first half of the year, Wilbo has PLN 720,000 in the red. In May, the company said that the restructuring is starting to bring effects. It mentioned it could have several million zlotys of net income this year. Shares grew reaching over PLN 2.5 a share today while their lowest level in the last 12 months was PLN 1.72, or 30 percent lower.

In the second quarter, Wilbo’s sales fell drastically. They amounted to PLN 38.19, or 20 percent less than in 2004. After summer holidays, the company is to present its new strategy including widening its offer and acquisitions.
