WSE ends down

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The WIG20 index traded higher than yesterday two times during the day. However, the trade was too low. Shares worth PLN 1.058bn changed hands, including 81 percent generated by blue chips.

Copper prices were falling all day long and was trading at the lowest level since February. KGHM dropped nearly 4 percent for the worst performer among blue chips. Trade unionists rejected the plans of the new management concerning a nuclear power stations. Banks dragged the market down as well. Pekao lost most on lowered recommendation from Wood&Co. to ‘sell’ from ‘kee’. PKO BP presented results as expected, the stock shed 1.8 percent. Cersanit rebounded after 7 days of losses which dragged it to the lowest level in 2.5 years. The stock jumped 11.4 percent today. Agora media group gained 8 percent, while GTC and Polimex construction companies rose nearly 4 percent each.

mWIG40 and sWIG80 did better than WIG20.
