Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Despite optimistic opening, the WIG20 index traded at 2,505 points during the day, the lowest level since June 2006.

The 20 share blue chips index did not drop below the psychological barrier of 2,500 points but it was close to it. It managed to end slightly up but the volume of trade was minute. Small and mid-caps indices were losing about 2 percent. Some companies dive 5-8 percent during one day. Shares of 120 small and mid-caps worth only PLN 97m changed hands. Blue chips attract 80 percent of the volume of trade. PKO BP bank and TVN TV broadcaster were the leaders today. Their stock rose 4 percent each. Agora media group was the worst performer among blue chips with 3.55 percent decrease.

Analysts believe there are no perspectives for a rebound. There will be no incentives connected with the macro data.
