Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Before 2.30 p.m. WSE indices were losing less than 1 percent. The WIG20 index was trading below 3,000 points but there was a chance for a rebound in case of positive data from the USA.

The data were wrong. Indices fell even deeper while the volume of trade rose. Only 20 percent of companies listed on the WSE ended up. None of the biggest blue chips managed to end up. PKO BP bank and KGHM copper producers noted only little losses. Growing oil prices did not support fuel companies. Lotos fuel giant did not grow even though the company had said it had bought oil fields. Petrolinvest oil company was the only one to add but it was after the company had said it was increasing its stake in n platform, a TV broadcaster. GTC construction company lost nearly 5 percent while Agora media group shed 3.3 percent. Amrest restaurant operator got over 5 percent on ‘buy’ recommendation from UniCredit.

The WIG20 index ended 1.7 percent down. Shares worth PLN 1.2bn changed hands.
