Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Zlomrex has invested in production of new steel plate products in Huta Stali Jakosciowych plant. The products are used in bulletproof vests.

Zlomrex develops its flat steel production in Stalowa Wola where it has Huta Stali Jakosciowych (HSJ) stell plant. Till 2009, it promised to invest PLN 50m (EUR 13.8m) but it has already spent PLN 65m and further PLN 40m will be invested there.

“Our engineers discovered a new technology to produce durable flat steel. We invested in a new production line”, Wincenty Likus, HSJ CEO said.

Two companies: Polish Bowim which will soon be listed and Ukrainian MKMZ have delivered the new production line.

„The products are sold to military unit of Huta Stalowa Wola which uses them to produce bulletproof vests”, Mr. Likus added.

“HSJ steel products proved very good. Both we and the army are very satisfied with them”, Zbigniew Nita, HSW spokesman said.

HSW delivers not only to the army but also to civilian companies.

“We sell steel products to the producers of machines, mines, etc. Austrian VoestAlpine Stahlhandel is part of Zlomrex group, which means that our products may as well be distributed abroad”, Wincenty Likus believed.

Zlomrex plans to buy stakes of Polish shipyards which would mean that HSJ steel products could be used in ship building.
