The American @ Ventures has announced that it will be investing in the media companies belonging to the Polymus group.

Polymus is made up of four companies, TV channel Polymus Program, advertising agency Polymus BTL, IT firm Comtica and distribution company Polymus Dystrybucja.

Details of the sale have been agreed and negotiations should be concluded by the end of next month. The stake that @ Ventures is taking has not been revealed.

Polymus Program has been on the Polish market since the summer of last year. It represents here the National Geographic Channel, Travel Channel and BBC Prime. The latter will shortly be available in a Polish language version.

Prices for the cable operators have not yet been set but it is not expected to be greater than 10 cents per subscriber.

Next year Polymus will be introducing access to the Travel Channel with the possibility of buying trips whilst viewing. Viewers will see a telephone number on screen and then can arrange their holiday plans over the phone. Scan Holiday has already agreed in principle to the deal.
