Bitron invests EUR 30m in Katowice special economic zone

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Italian Bitron, the producer of automotive and home appliances elements, increases its investments in Poland.Our clients, car producers and home appliances companies, are investing in Poland. The market is developing dynamically and has much potential, Ugo D’auria, Bitron Poland CEO said.

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Italian Bitron, the producer of automotive and home appliances elements, increases its investments in Poland.Our clients, car producers and home appliances companies, are investing in Poland. The market is developing dynamically and has much potential, Ugo D’auria, Bitron Poland CEO said.Bitron built a modern plant in Sosnowiec, in Katowice special economic zone (KSSE) in January 2005. This year, the company will spend EUR 3.5m, and next year EUR 3m to increase the plant.Till 2010, we will have invested in Sosnowiec over EUR 30m, the CEO added.The Polish plant is going to be the leading factory for Bitron. The automotive elements it produces in Sosnowiec are mainly exported to Italy (80 percent). FIAT, Toyota, Mercedes, BMW and Renault are the main clients. As far as home appliances elements are concerned, 42 percent are sold to Germany, 32 percent to Italy and 21 percent to Poland.This year, we have increased employment by over 30 percent to 500 people but this is not all, Sergio Bertino, production director in Bitron Poland said.This year, Bitron Poland estimates to have sales of EUR 40m. The group has eight plants in Italy, one in China, Brazil and Spain. It employs 4,000 people. This year, its sales will amount to EUR 420m, EUR 20m more than in 2004.
