Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Foreigners will spend USD 6.9 billion in Poland this year. There may be 17m of tourists.
Last year, 54.2m of foreigners visited Poland, or over 10m fewer than in 2005. However, in the first three quarters of 2006, there were 11.9m tourists, or 3 percent more than in the same period of last year, the Polish Tourism Organization (POT) said. This year will be better.
“In 2007, there may be 16.8m tourists and foreigners may spend USD 6.9 billion in Poland, including USD 3.7 billion spent by tourists. In the next years, the visits will grow 4 percent annually. Our dream is to become one of the ten top countries in the world”, Wojciech Kodlubanski, POT deputy CEO said.
The number of visits from Germany dropped by 2 percent, from Israel, the Czech Republic or Luxemburg by 5 percent. Visits from Ireland, the UK, South Korea, Norway, Holland and Romania rose by over 20 percent on the other hand.
