Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Browar Belgia brewery sold over 500,000 hectolitres of beer in the first quarter, a result similar to that achieved in 2004. EBITDA was PLN 6m (EUR 1.5m) higher than last year. The company refused to give the value of its income or sales. “The results let us be optimistic for the future. They show that inside reorganisation was good strategy”, Aleksander Chmielewski, Browar Belgia general director said.
He added that 50 new employers in the sales department helped increase the sale of Gingers brand by 15 percent within two months. In 2004, the company sold over 1 m hl of beer, or 1 percent more than in 2003. Sales amounted to PLN 220m, but the company had a loss. Browar Belgia has 4-percent market share in Poland. It is owned by Palm Breweries International of Belgium.
