Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) Centralwings, the low-cost airline owned by LOT Polands flag carrier, had 590,000 passengers this year.
We planned to have 700,000 passengers in the whole year but I think we will exceed those estimations by 20,000, Piotr Kociolek, Centralwings CEO said.
Centralwings believes that till year-end the low-cost market in Poland will amount to 2.65m passengers. Centralwings estimates to have 14 percent of this market.
The company had to update its strategy.
We have underestimated the growth rate. At first, we have planned to increase our fleet by two planes a year. Now we know that we have to have 10 planes at the end of next year. Till 2010, we want to have 24 aircraft, Piotr Kociolek said.
Which plane will be chosen for the company will be known till year-end.
Next year, the company will buy used machines. Then, it will have new ones.
In 2006, Centralwings plans to have over 1.5m passengers and increase employment to 500 people. The company plans to have first income in 2008.
This year, it forecasts to have PLN 0.25 billion (EUR 0.0625 billion) of sales.
