Centrum Obslugi Biznesu, a company owned by the city of Poznań and Build Co Poznań, will shortly be commencing work on a office block in the centre of the city next to the international fair ground. The cost of the investment will be in the order of USD50m.

The project foresees an office block and a hotel. The city, which has a one third stake in the project, is supplying the land. Build Co Poznań is part of the Belgian development company CoCeFi which will be putting up all the cash.

The Baltyk cinema currently occupies the site but it is due for demolition in August and a neighbouring building is due for modernisation as part of the scheme. Work is likely to last 21 months.

There are now several projects on adjacent plots. GTC has linked up with Orbis to build a PLN60m office complex whilst only a few hundred metres further the Poznan based construction company Ataner is to complete a PLN55m building. Not far away from this will be the PLN270m Stary Browar retail, office and cultural centre.
