Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Nafta Polska, state-owned fuel giant, is going to sell several chemical producers, including Tarnow and Kedzierzyn azote plants, Zachem and Organika Sarzyna. The latter, and Zachem will be put for sale in April.
Potential investors build consortia. Ciech wants to submit offer to buy Zachem jointly with Hungarian BorsodChem. ‘We have already talked to BorsodChem about building consortium to take part in Zachem’s privatisation. Both companies are interested in the solution but no detailed proposals have been made yet’, Marek Klat, Ciech’s spokesman said. Ciech is going to spend PLN 600 m (EUR 152.2 m) for acquisitions in Poland and abroad. ‘We will start negotiations to buy Zachem, Sarzyna, Police and a Romanian soda producers. We will also start anew talks with BorsodChem’, Marek Klat added.
Other potential buyers for Nafta Polska’s companies are German Petro Carbo Chem (PCC), Norwegian fertiliser producer Yara, Polish Anwil and Organika. ‘We are interested in Zachem. We do not exclude taking part in a consortium’, Krzysztof Wegrzyn, Organika CEO said. PCC would like to buy Sarzyna, Zachem and Tarnow. ‘We consider building consortia for particular projects. With whom – will be decided in negotiations’, Marzena Ambroziak, PCC advisor to Poland said. Yara will probably build consortium with Anwil, which is also azote fertiliser producer.
