Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Hungarian Emfesz, which is trying to win the Polish market, and to deliver gas to, among others, ZA Pulawy nitrogen plants, has another idea for closer cooperation.
Emfesz and ZA Pulawy signed a contract last fall which will be valid till 2008.
“We submitted an offer to invest in LNG production in Pulawy”, Zbigniew Dzideczek representing Emfesz in Poland said.
Pulawy representatives stress that LNG underground storages are a very good solution for the company because they would provide for extra fuel in case of limited deliveries from PGNiG, the Polish gas monopoly. ZA Pulawy confirm to receive an offer from Emfesz to produce and store LNG.
“We are also talking to other gas deliverers”, Marcin Buczkowski, ZA Pulawy deputy CEO said.
PGNiG is one of the companies. Whether the companies are going to build LNG storages jointly or trade with LNG remains secret.
“I don’t confirm nor deny. We will tell about it when a letter of intent with PGNiG is signed, which may be done within a month”,
To Emfesz, ZA Pulawy are also not the sole target in Poland. The Hungarian company has already signed a letter of intent with ZA Tarnow nitrogen plants concerning the production of LNG. Emfesz plans to deliver natural gas to Poland, which is used to produce LNG.
CP Energia is also interested in acquiring LNG from Emfesz.
