Finns consider PAP

The Finnish Alma Media is considering investing in the Polish Press Agency PAP. The company already has a stake in press agencies in the Baltic region therefore this is a logical continuation of this strategy.

The treasury is hoping to sell a 45 percent stake in the agency.

Alma Media is the owner of the largest commercial television station in Finland, a radio station, printers, consulting firm as well as a strong internet presence. Last year its turnover came to EUR484.3m of which 47 percent came from publishing, 35 percent from television and radio and three percent from internet ventures. It is also a major shareholder of the Bonnier group which publishes Puls Biznesu amongst others.
