Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Russian producers are building their plants. This means that good times for Polish frozen food companies are about to be over.

During recent Polagra fairs in Poznan, Alexiey Vasilevitch Gordyeyev, Russian minister of agriculture, said that Russia was interested in founding joint enterprises, especially in fruit and vegetable processing.

“Nothing has happened. No one has come to us with any offer. Although the embargo was levied, we still cannot export frozen fish and meat to Russia. We haven’t been controlled yet and we haven’t received export permissions”, Adam Basalaj, Frosta CEO said.

“Nothing will happen within a month. This is not the Russian pace. And in several years, it may be too late to invest. Russians are hiring Polish specialists. They will start their own production with them”, Zofia Debska from Hortinbo ZPOW Lezajsk commented.

“The Russians are building their own plants with the help of Polish specialists. One of well-known distributors of frozen food has already done it”, Jerzy Sidor, Fritar CEO said.
