Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The Ministry of the Treasure said that it would solve the problem of PAK power plants till September. Zygmunt Solorz-Zak, the owner of Elektrim, sends new letters to the ministry.
The Ministry of the Treasure declares that the legal analyses concerning its relations with Elektrim and its main shareholder Zygmunt Solorz-Zak controlling PAK power plants will be ready till September. The Polish state has a 50 percent stake.
“Then, we will start talks with the shareholders. The PAK’s problem must be solved immediately. We are going to do it in fall”, Michal Krupinski, the deputy Minister of the Treasure responsible for the energy sector said.
Before, the state believed that the optimal solution would be to find a new strategic investor who would buy the stakes from the ministry and Elektrim. Now, however, Minister Krupinski refuses to give specific data. The Ministry may be trying to win the time hoping to reach agreement with Elektrim. It hopes probably that Zygmunt Solorz-Zak will find the investor himself. Czech CEZ said it was interested in PAK, German RWE and Swedish Vattenfall. So far, however, Elektrim’s owner did not allow for due diligence.
“It won’t be possible until we get the decision from the Ministry of the Treasure. We expected to receive it after a meeting held several months ago. It did not happen. We are preparing another motion where we will present different variants of solutions for PAK”, Zygmunt Solorz-Zak said.
