Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Impexmetal faces a new development stage. It wants to start production outside Poland.

Impexmetal, the metal group controlled by Roman Karkosik, is about to make strategic decisions.

“We want to launch production in US dollar zone. Analyses of different sites are being conducted at the moment”, Arkadiusz Krezel, Impexmetal chairman of the supervisory board said.

He explains, that strong zloty, growing energy costs plus the pressure to increase wages make it necessary to change the strategy. Details will be presented in March. The group may invest in aluminum and copper sectors. The company ensures, however, that it is not going to shift production from Poland.

The company will cooperate with Polish capital groups to finance its plans.

In 2007, Impexmetal’s sales dropped by 2 percent to PLN 3.7bn (EUR 1bn) while the net income fell by 17 percent to PLN 140m.

“Impexmetal group should this year improve its net income by about 20 percent”, Piotr Szeliga, Impexmetal CEO said.
