Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – KGHM workers don’t want mines to be merged. Trade unions will decide today how to stop the management from implementing their plans.

Three in one, i.e. KGHM copper mines merged into one – this is the scenario of the management of the copper producer. Trade unionists on the other hand will today write the scenario of their activities aimed at preventing these plans. The management explain that this is a way to save costs, stabilize the way copper is used, cut production costs and unify employment and wage policy. The workers want the CEOs to give up these plans. The management have already received a written motion signed by representatives of all trade unions.

“We are determined and we will clash with the management until the CEOs give up”, Jozef Czyczerski, Solidarnosc trade union at KGHM said.

“We won’t allow for the consolidation. I will propose the other unions to make a strike referendum. We should let the miners have their say”, Piotr Trempala from ZZPD trade union at KGHM added.
