The treasury is about to attempt again the privatisation of lime producer Trzuskawica, which has around thirty percent of the market. There are appartently two potential buyers. The last time ound Partek Nordkalk, the Irish CRH and German Fels Werke attempted to buy the plant.
Two years ago the Belgian Carmeuse negotiated a deal which included a very attactive social packet for the employees only to pull out at the last minute. It was said that the company realised that it had offered the staff too good a deal which included eight years guaranteed employment and PLN40,000 privatisation bounty for each of them and four years redundancy payments.
