Markets across Europe took an initial beating although some managed to pick up a little during the day. Nonetheless following the Nikkei reaching it lowest point since 1983 little good could be expected. Paris and Frankfurt lost getting on for two percent although losses in London were less bad. Here the technological sub index TechWIG reached its lowest point ever whilst in very little trade the markets stayed more or less stable.
