Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Investors were not interested in small and mid-caps while blue chips were rising today.

Polimex-Mostostal, Cersanit, CEZ and Bank BPH added 4.6-6.9 percent for the best performers among blue chips. Out of small caps, only Elektrobudowa and PC Guard did better than the four blue chips mentioned before, which is a very rare situation. Over 70 companies listed on the WSE lost, less then 7 percent of them ended unchanged. Indices show a totally different situation. WIG20 added 1.23 percent, WIG gained 0.2 percent. sWIG80 shed 1 percent while mWIG40 lost 1.5 percent. It looks like investors who so far have been present in small and mid-caps say goodbye to the stock market for a while. The volume of trade was very low. Blue chips worth only PLN 875m changed hands.

KGHM copper conglomerate lost 1.5 percent to PLN 115.3 on falling copper prices. GTC construction company shed 0.7 percent to PLN 47.85. On the contrary, Cersanit tiles producer continued rebounds on the agrement with investment funds over its merger with Opoczno. The stock ended 4.6 percent up at PLN 34. CEZ energy giant rose 4.7 percent to PLN 187.9.
