Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – This year, Mercedes plans to reach the 2004 level as far as sales are concerned. Within four years it wants to double its results.

Merceded sold 2,361 cars in 2005 against 2,862 a year earlier.

“We can’t afford to let the sales fall further. We have invested with our dealers too much to waste it. This year, we plan to sell 3,000 cars, similarly to the year 2004. Assuming that there will be 230,000 cars absorbed by the market, we will have 1.3 percent market share. According to our 2006-2010 strategy, we want to increase sales to 6,000 units”, Pawel Miszkowski, sales and marketing director at Mercedes Car Group in Poland said.

The company has started a marketing campaign. In the first two months of the year, it sold 406 passenger cars against 251 cars a year earlier. BMW, one of Mercedes traditional rivals, sold 236 against 147 cars a year ago.
