Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The telecom’s results were worse than last year. The management sees the future in bright colors and confirms 2007 forecasts.

Although Netia’s results were worse than analysts expected, the stock rose 7.97 percent to PLN 4.2 (EUR 1.1). In the first quarter, Netia had PLN 37.85m of consolidated net loss against PLN 10.78m of loss last year. Sales fell to PLN 204.4m from PLN 218.4m. Jon Eastick, Netia member of the board for finances, believes that lower sales were caused by lower sales in wholesale and interconnect services. The management assures that the company will increase sales in the remaining quarters of this year. It will be thanks to sales generated by clients of broadband services.

Till the end of the year, the company plans to have over 200,000 clients. The forecast, which was confirmed by the company, provides for PLN 830-865m of sales and PLN 150m of EBITDA this year.
