Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – PAK power plant and Konin coal mine are going to negotiate the coal delivery agreement. Experts are going to help them.
The managements of PAK power plant group and its deliverer - Konin coal mine, decided yesterday to renew negotiations concerning a long-term agreement for coal delivery. The companies have been talking for six months already but have not reached agreement concerning the price. During the next meeting to be held on December 27th, PAN institute scientists will be present. PAK asked them to prepare an analysis of coal price.
The coal mine, headed by Maciej Musial, will be closed unless it signs agreement with PAK. Cooperation with the power plant generates PLN 600m (EUR 157.2m) of its income annually. The mine’s creditor, BZ WBK, to which it owes PLN 80m, is pressing the company. To PAK, the agreement is necessary as well. It has no alternative source of energy for its Patnow power plant.
