Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – This week the German investor meets Nafta Polska. The state-owned company wants to shift the deadline to conclude the privatization.

Just a few days before the deadline of the privatization of Tarnow and Kedzierzyn nitrogen plants the German investor has not received the approval from the Polish government. Petro Carbo Chem (PCC) was supposed to become the owner of the two plants till November 3rd. However, Nafta Polska (NP), the state-owned company founded to privatize the sector, is going to meet the company this week to negotiate an annex delaying the transaction till the beginning of December.

“We shall see what the other party offers us and then we will decide what next”, Marzena Ambroziak, the advisor to PCC management said.

On November 10th, NP said that GSM of Tarnow and Kedzierzyn would be held. Changes in their supervisory boards are planned.

“After November 3rd, either the investor will change the supervisory boards or the Treasure will remove all the representatives of the investor out of them”, Marek Drac-Taton, NP CEO said.

According to the representatives of the chemical sector, PCC’s situation is not good.

“Why does the Ministry of the Treasure want to shift the transaction in the eleventh hour? They have known before that the companies have good results. What the Supreme Chamber of Control (NIK) found out was known in the middle of the year”, a person close to one of the privatized companies said.

On October 11th, the Ministry of the Treasure said that it needed more time to make decision. The official excuse was the report of NIK which is to be presented on October 26th. According to unofficial sources, the Ministry may demand PCC to pay more than agreed before.
