On Wednesday, Maria Paslo-Wisniewska and Andrzej Klesyk are meeting the supervisory board of PKO BP bank. The CEO will probably not be chosen yet.

Tomorrow, the candidates for the post of PKO BP CEO, will meet with the supervisory board.

“Both Maria Paslo-Wisniewska, today Citizen’s Platform opposition party MP, and Andrzej Klesyk, deputy CEO of The Boston Consulting Group, will be interviewed”, “PB” source said.

“We want to learn how the candidates want to implement the new strategy”, Marek Gluchowski, PKO BP chairman said several days ago.

“It is strange that first a strategy should be accepted and later potential candidates for the post of the CEO are asked how they would implement it. I don’t know the answer because I don’t know the strategy its aims, nor the mechanisms and tools to implement it. I hope I’ll learn a lot during the meeting”, Maria Paslo-Wisniewska said.

Andrzej Klesyk is in much better situation. The Boston Consulting Group advised at the strategy. The document provides for PKO BP to retain its leading position in Poland, even after the merger of Pekao with part of Bank BPH. PKO BP wants to gain or keep 30-35 percent market share in all segments of retail market.

According to one of “PB” sources, the owner of PKO BP, i.e. the state, has not decided yet about the CEO. That’s why the Wednesday meeting will be fruitless.
