Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The tender for border protection system worth EUR 52 million will be repeated. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration (MSWiA) by mistake conducted a tender for construction works instead of for services. The tender was published at the beginning of October. This was the largest IT project in Poland in 2004, financed by EU. ‘Because the procedures for the two types of tenders are different, one of the companies protested. Now everything has to be repeated’, a source told ‘Puls Biznesu’.

The new tender should be ready till the end of November. Although the project consists of construction works (as watch towers have to be built), separate projects should be prepared by MSWiA. Meanwhile, a project of sea border radar protection system worth EUR 40 million is being realised. In April, works concerning the Schengen data system worth PLN 750 million (EUR 174.6 million) will start.
