Poland: Food prices fall in the first half of September

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – In the first half of September, the prices of food and non-alcohol beverages fell down by 0.1 percent in comparison to the same period of August, the central statistical office GUS said on Friday.

Without taking into consideration the changes in prices of fruit and vegetables, the food prices grew by 0.1 percent in the first half of September against the first half of August. According to GUS data, cheese prices increased most, by 0.8 percent. Fruit prices dropped by 9.9 percent while eggs by 1.2 percent.
