Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Despite talks, the employees of the Polish railway PKP are going to strike on Wednesday. Several interjections will be blocked. On Tuesday, negotiations between PKP, trade unions and the government were held, no agreement was reached. ‘We will try the protest to last as short as possible, it may be an hour or less’, Barbara Komander from the protesting committee said. She added, it should be at time most convenient not to interfere when people are trying to reach work, and children – school. The committee did not reveal, which interjections would be blocked. ‘It will be conducted in several points, we will not protest at eight interjections as planned before, but at six at the most unless other decisions are made at regional committees’, Barbara Komander said.
According to Jacek Przesluga, PKP spokesman, the main dispute issue was the organisation of regional transport. PKP management would like the committee of PKP, trade unions and government to monitor the foundation of railway companies co-operating with local authorities, PAP news agency said. The next meeting of the three parties will be held at the beginning of February.
