Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Maspex, a Polish juice and beverage producer from Wadowice, southern Poland, is getting bigger. Last week, the company acquired the juice producing subsidiary of the Czech Walmark, number one juice and beverage producer in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Then, Maspex bought a controlling stake in Olympos, Hungary’s second juice and beverage producer with 10 percent market share. Maspex already sells its Kubus juices in Hungary and has a 2 percent market share.
The value of the transaction has not been revealed. ‘We finance all investment from our own funds and bank credits’, Krzysztof Pawinski, Maspex CEO said. According to ‘Puls Biznesu’ estimates, Maspex has invested PLN 200 million (EUR 46.7 million) this year. ‘I neither confirm nor decline but it will be a record level’, Maspex’s CEO said. Sales should grow to PLN 1.5 billion, and in 2005 – PLN 1.8 billion. The Maspex group has outlets in the Czech Republic, Russia, Romania, Hungary and Slovakia. Exports constitute 14.3 percent of sales. Maspex exports its products to 53 countries.
