Warsaw (Puls Bizneus) – The Korean company is fighting for the second place in the ranking among the most popular mobile phone producers in Poland.
This year, Samsung will sell a record number of mobile phones in Poland. It may exceed 1.3m items, the company estimates. In the first eight months of this year, the Koreans sold 0.8m phones while the best quarter is in front of them. Rivals and operators are surprised.
“We will sell 1m phones more than last year. We have adjusted our offer to local conditions and the expectations of the operators, we have strengthened marketing and distribution. Rivals who underestimated us helped us as well”, Wojciech Wasilewski, the sales and marketing director in the mobile phones division in Samsung said.
Nokia and Sony Ericsson have bigger market shares than Samsung in Poland. The Korean firm is very close to Sony Ericsson while Nokia with 30 percent market share is far ahead of the rivals. However, experts believe that the situation on the market is not stable yet.
“Motorola may soon adversely affect Samsung’s position. Motorola has successes worldwide but it still very slow in Poland. The offers of the two companies are very similar. There may be substantial changes next year”, a representatives of one of the operators said.
Samsung wants to have 18-20 percent of the market at the end of the year.
