Good health may be profitable, at least it would seem that way to venture capital and private equity funds that will have placed over PLN1bn by the end of 2004. Whereas the whole market could be worth as much as USD10bn annually at present, within five years it could be USD15bn. As if that were not all, by 2007, more than forty percent of health services will be private.
Disaffection with the highly corrupt state services has pushed many into the private sector, but at present costs remain high. However in 2005 health insurance will be introduced, accessing a larger amount of the public.
